HappyPrideMonth LGBT+ Celebrities (28/30) Anna Paquin “There’s people that are going to probably go to their grave thinking whatever they think about the LGBT community, that’s their problem, not mine. And there’s people that think that monogamy and bisexuality are mutually exclusive. Again, their problem not mine.
I hope your blood is tested positive for revolution
that the only skin condition you ever acquire is
goosebumps from all the courage you didn’t know you had
that your spine shivers but that your feet never falter
that it makes your tongue itch to the point that you scream
and demand freedom, demand justice, demand to be heard -at last
I hope your blood is tested positive for the intolerance of complacency
that you are compelled to act and inspire others to take to your example
that you will rise after you fall, that you will walk and you will run
and that you will be the first to pull others to their feet
I hope your blood is tested positive for the distrust in institutional systems
that do not have your best interest and wellbeing at heart
that you will stand corrected before you stand to correct
that you will endure but not endanger, that you will strive for truth
I hope your blood is tested positive for the
absolute disdain of systemic incompetence
that you seek out a better way that serves the most good for the most people
that you lead with honour and recognize the value of human dignity
that you do not become like the very monsters you worked to remove
I hope your blood is tested positive for revolution
that you are brave enough to fall apart in order to take
the pieces and build something greater than your present self
that you are immune to the manipulation, and deceit
that you remember the faces and voices of those who stood with you
and those who fell so you can stand in their stead
- because so long as you have revolution in your blood
so long as every drop that falls to earth is rich in revolt
they will have no choice but to listen
This is probably my favorite book so far for 2019 and was a perfect start for Pride Month and I can’t wait for you guys to read it later this fall when it is released on October 29!
Everyone has a soul. Some are beautiful gardens, others are frightening dungeons. Soulwalkers—like Kamai and her mother—can journey into other people’s souls while they sleep.
But no matter where Kamai visits, she sees the black door. It follows her into every soul, and her mother has told her to never, ever open it.
When Kamai touches the door, it is warm and beating, like it has a pulse. When she puts her ear to it, she hears her own name whispered from the other side. And when tragedy strikes, Kamai does the unthinkable: she opens the door.
A.M. Strickland’s imaginative dark fantasy features court intrigue and romance, a main character coming to terms with her asexuality, and twists and turns as a seductive mystery unfolds that endangers not just Kamai’s own soul, but the entire kingdom.
Jodie’s range knows no bounds. She has a playfulness in her approach to Villanelle, which has inspired so much of the writing. She delivers the light and the dark with a fierce precision and has a mystique all her own, which cannot be directed nor explained, only marveled at.
She is one in a billion and on top of that she is very kind, which means she can play despicable characters and we will still adore her. I haven’t seen talent and skill quite like hers before, especially in someone so young. If she doesn’t win everything for where she took this character, I’m going to eat shepherd’s pie until I’m sick. — Phoebe Waller-Bridge
“But, Father, I’ve defeated every single monster I’ve come up against. I-I’m… I’m the most famous person in all of Greece. I’m… I-I’m an action figure!”
